SNAPSHOT: Ryanair – Birmingham to Dublin

08/01/2015 by Kevincm

I know a lot of you are waiting for this, and you all like fun at my expense, so here it is – I fly Ryanair. Willing

So, how good, bad or indifferent is it?

Is the plane a Boeing 737-800? Yes. See the above image.

Were they being draconian with the luggage at the gate? Not overly that I could see.

Did my mobile boarding pass work? At all points, and as intended.

Is the plane inside yellow? My god yes.

(Although if I’m honest, the yellow was fading in more parts than not…

Was the safety card on on the seat in front of you? Yes.

How was the seat itself? It was more comfortable than Lufthansa’s flying bench – although narrower due to the 737’s narrow fuselage (compared with the A320 family), although I’m honestly surprised Ryanair haven’t installed slimline seats on all their planes and be done with it…

What about Legroom? Not a lot, but enough for a 1 hour flight

Did I want a scratchcard? No.

Was the sales patter constant? It was there, but wasn’t overly intrusive.

Did it get me A to B on time? Yes, although there was some major timetable padding…

And the cost for this privilege? £10.19 with  the 20p credit card fee.  Compare that with the £55 that Aer Lingus wanted…

Many more thoughts and opinions in the upcoming trip report, as I prepare to do one of the maddest tier point runs I have ever planned…

We flew Ryanair from Cork>Stanstead (and back) and had a great experience. Flight was on time, arrived into London early. We ate before boarding, knew exactly how much our luggage weighed and how many souvenirs we could buy in London. For that price, what’s not love????

Bingo. My point is that proving you stick to the rules, or pay the extras it isnt THAT bad.
