Time for one of the bigger snapshots on this trip – BA001 – London City Airport – Shannon – JFK
As most of you know, this route is operated by one of the smaller “mainline” aeroplanes that British Airways operate – the Airbus A318
The seat used is completely different to all the other Club World products – in that it has 2 x 2 seating facing forward (as opposed to a ying/yang or off-setted layout
Seat
The cabin from the back of the plane
The seat itself converts into a flat bed – which is pretty comfortable for me.
Take off was like a rocket due to the short field length at London City Airport – and well, you get some great views too.
As there are no built in In-Flight Entertainment Systems, IFE is handled by an iPad based. It’s like a GhettoIFE system all grown up….
Along with Noise Cancelling Headphones.
Food was a veritable feast. Some taster pictures.
And plenty of bubbles.
I’ll have more in the full review – but here’s a little hint: British Airways best services are the ones that are slightly non standard – by that I mean anything out of Gatwick or Heathrow. The London City to New York JFK service is a little gem as is its compatriot flights…. when they operate that is.
Another snapshot later!
