The worlds largest operator of the Airbus A380 is to launch more routes featuring the double decker superjumbo.
Emirates will be adding another two routes over the year – with Düsseldorf in Germany gaining an A380 service in July, and Madrid in Spain gaining A380 service from August.
These will take over from Boeing 777 operated services.
The timetables are loaded into the booking systems. Düsseldorf which has two services a day will have one of the services switched to A380 operation:
Dubai to Düsseldorf EK055 DEPART DXB 08:30 ARRIVE DUS 13:25 Airbus A380 EK057 DEPART DXB 14:50 ARRIVE DUS 19:35 Boeing 777-300ER Düsseldorf to Dubai EK056 DEPART DUS 15:25 ARRIVE DXB 23:55 Airbus A380 EK058 DEPART DUS 21:25 ARRIVE DXB 05:50+1 Boeing 777-300ER Commences with Airbus A380 equipment from 1st July Operates Daily Data - Airlineroute
Madrid – like Düsseldorf – has a 2 times daily service, and will have one of those services converted to Airbus A380 operation
Dubai to Madrid EK141 DXB0740 – 1340MAD Airbus A380 EK143 DXB1435 – 2025MAD Boeing 777-300ER Madrid to Dubai EK142 MAD1530 – 0045+1DXB Airbus A380 EK144 MAD2210 – 0710+1DXB Boeing 777-300ER Commences with Airbus A380 equipment from 1st August Operates Daily Data - Airlineroute
With the addition of more capacity on these routes is welcome, it’s also better for the passenger experience as there are more space and facilities aboard the A380s compared to the Boeing 777-300ERs.
Whilst the routes have been announced, the booking engines are currently reflecting services are operated with Boeing 777-300ER services – so don’t put the hammer down on booking tickets just yet…
