It seems the time of Bombardier CRJ-700s is coming to an end with, with services operated by Lufthansa CityLine planned for withdrawal on 29th March.

Lufthansa Cityline services operate mainly from Lufthansa’s hub in Munich, and operate seven CRJ-700 aircraft in their fleet.
The wind-down will begin in February, with the first service (Munich to Sibiu) withdrawn and have equipment switched. Four other services will be switched to other equipment in February.
In March, the majority of the service switch overs will from the 25th March – with the last booked services to fly on 29th March operating the Munich to Luxembourg service
A full list is on Airlineroute.net, including when services will be switched over.
The withdrawal of the CRJ-700 from Lufthansa CityLine will leave the airline operating a fleet of:
- 12 Bombardier CRJ-900s
- 9 Embraer E-190s
- 24 Embraer E-195s
Lufthansa CityLine will also have a fleet of eight Airbus A340-300s assigned to it, to operate high density services under the “Jump” sub-brand.
Whilst the CRJ-700 is a better aircraft than its smaller cousin – the CRJ-200, it’s still a tight fit. It also moves CityLine into a large capacity regional jet fleet, with capacities between 84 seats in a CRJ-900, to 116 seats on a E-195.
For Lufthansa CityLine, this smallest jet they have is too small it seems…
