It seems that Lufthansa cannot catch a break from Vereinigung Cockpit, with the long haul strike going ahead as planned today (19th March).
53 long haul flights are affected today – with the cancellations listed at http://www.lufthansa.com/online/portal/lh/de/flight_services/cancelled_flights?nodeid=1410039030&l=en&cid=18002
As usual, you should be heading the to the Lufthansa strike page and rebooking your flights.
Whilst only 53 flight are affected
More worryingly, Vereinigung Cockpit has called another strike for 20th March 2015 which will again target Lufthansa’s vast short and medium haul network.
Lufthansa main line operated services will be targeted again (with Eurowings and Germanwings unaffected).
When it rains, it pours. This seems to be the problem Lufthansa is having as they struggle to agree terms with Vereinigung Cockpit over retirement benifits.
Sadly, there seems to be little sign of either side compromising.
As usual – check before you travel and rebook as needed.
