(Hmm. It seems that the scheduling software forgot to let this one out of the door. Apologies…but it’s got a cute picture in it… )
As Boeing 787 deliveries become an everyday occurrence – it’s still great to see when airlines mark a milestone in deliveries.
Especially when their new aircraft it has a special livery.
Air India has taken delivery of its 20th Boeing 787 Dreamliner – and has chosen to do so by having the aircraft painted in Star Alliance livery

With the 20th 787 Dreamliner added to the Air India fleet, the airline is using the aircraft to offer 18 Business Class seats in 2-2-2 configuration and 238 economy seats in a 3-3-3 layout.
More importantly, it has allowed Air India to operate the aircraft to new destinations (such as Birmingham Airport in the UK), and re-gauging services so they meet demand better.
This aircraft is also the first Boeing 787 to be painted in one of the major airline alliances colour scheme.
Whilst Star Alliance’s billboard is stark, the red of the Air India logo on the fuselage and engines add a lovely dash of colour… and shouldn’t be missed around airports around the world.
