American Airlines will be doing an equipment swap on the Dallas Fort Worth to Shanghai-Pudong route, swapping out its venerable Boeing 777-200ERs it has been operating for its new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.

The service will operate from the 26th June 2015, with the Boeing 787 will maintain the current timings the 777-200ER route have, namely:
AA127 DEPART DFW 10:40 ARRIVE PVG 14:55+1 AA128 DEPART PVG 16:50 ARRIVE DFW 18:10 Operates with a Boeing 777-200ER until 25th June 2015 Operates with a Boeing 787-8 from 26th June 2015 Data: Airlineroute
Now if you’re holding reservations on this service, I’d be fully expecting you to check your reservations, least of all for seating changes.
However, the American Airlines operate a two class service on the 787-8s (Business Class, Main Cabin Extra and Main Cabin). No First Class is fitted to these aircraft.
Checking the available tickets – you’ll note it from the image below.
And checking the seat map – the highest class is indeed… Business.
If you need a First Class seat, you’ll need to be travel via Chicago or Los Angeles. However, if you’re after a 15 hour 15 minute direct service between Dallas and Shanghai, this could suit your needs rather well.

I assume that these were *not* reconfigured 772’s, due to your reference to First Class. If so, that’s quite the drop from ~53 F/J seats, to 28 J seats. At least there’s MCE now…
