It’s coming up to that time of year where musical taste goes out of of the window, bad outfits are the order of the day, politics and block voting come into play and everything has to be sparkly.
Why yes – It’s time for the Eurovision Song Contest!
So – The Eurovision Song Contest is behind held in Vienna – in the Wiener Stadhalle.
A total 40 countries – along with Australia joining this years festivities (apparently – Australians are Eurovision mad too).
So what has this to do with flying? Well honestly… Nothing really.
Oh well. A flying song. Let’s pick on Scooch with Flying the Flag (for you) from 2007 for this wonderful British Eurovision entry.

(I’m sorry. I can only apologise for this “music”)
Eurovision has been a place to celebrate music of all sorts, from the mad to sublime to magnificent. One example is last years winner (which brought the Eurovision Song Contest to Austria), Conchita Wurst’s Rise Like a Phoenix
The contest itself is split over three days:
- Semi Final 1 – 19th May (Today)
- Semi Final 2 – 21st May (Thursday)
- The Grand Final (what most people think of the Eurovision Song Contest) – 23rd May (Saturday)
Eurovision itself will be broadcast on the usual carriers – and your featured Tweeter on the BBC site from last year (yes, me when I got a mention)
