Aer Lingus introduces Tayto crisp sandwiches to the air!

13/06/2015 by Kevincm

For those of us of a certain age (and/or younger/older), nothing beats crisp sandwiches. Well it seems Aer Lingus has caught on to this idea – and is releasing this gem of a purchasable meal aboard the short-haul flights

Behold: The DIY Crisp sandwich!

Tayo Crisp Sandwiches - Image, Aer Lingus

It’s a DIY sandwich, featuring bread, butter and of course Tayto Cheese and Onion Crisps (and your did your know of the day – it was Tayto that developed the flavour of Cheese and Onion crisps).

Served in the air, this bounty of wonderfulness will set you back €4/£3 a throw on European flights from Dublin (and it’s in their in-flight menu).

More fun is the Social Media engagement that Aer Lingus has managed with this, with Aer Lingus and Tayto working together, with… hilarious results:

And such feedback as:

Have a look at the conversations – it’s hilarious.

For those who want some comfort food on a plane – this isn’t the worst thing in the air by a long shot. Of course, those who prefer can pre-order one of the best meals in the air – Aer Lingus’s Irish Breakfast…

[…] Current performance with BoB is abysmal….suggests that IAG takeover cannot happen soon enough as this is complete management fail. On a brighter note a new addition it seems with the addition of DIY tayto sandwiches http://economyclassandbeyond.boardin….WWBfXjSM.dpbs […]
