It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more airplane art.
This week, on final approach to Chicago O’Hare International Airport is an American Airlines Boeing 737-800… and this shot I like as the sun is reflecting off the tail nicely.
American Airlines has an active fleet of 256 Boeing 737-800s in its fleet, with an additional 47 to be delivered – making it the largest operator of the Boeing 737-800 subtype in the USA.
The fleet is making inroads into the replacement of the aging MD-80 fleet which is due for retirement in 2017.
American Airlines is also lined up to recieve 100 of the follow on aircraft – the Boeing 737 MAX 8 from 2020.
More aiplane art next week!
