It seems all is not well between Luxair and Lufthansa, as the Luxenbourg flag carrier is to pull out of flying to Frankfurt, and instead to concentrate its operations to Germany by flying to Munich instead.

According the press release, Luxair will operate four services a day to Munich.
Luxair states the route change is due to the changing relationship between themselves and Lufthansa:
These changes in Luxair’s program are the result of the recent decision by Lufthansa to rescind its trade agreements with Luxair on these two routes. Luxair has chosen to continue to serve Munich and to abandon the Frankfurt route, which is used primarily to carry passengers to and from other destinations
Ouch.
Luxair argue that the switch to Munich suits its plans better, as it connects Luxembourg with to major European cities.
Meanwhile, other codeshares and Luxair’s membership of Miles and More will continue as is for now.
Hmm. This is not what I would call a cosy relationship any more between the two airlines any more. Still, this could be the first of some changes at Luxair as it grows to be a more relevant carrier as it continues its expansion in its own way.
