Scandinavian Airlines to boost its USA Network

27/08/2015 by Kevincm

Scandinavian Airlines are to boost its operations to the United States of America, with the launch of three new routes, and the expansion of five other routes.

The new routes are:

  • Stockholm to Los Angeles
  • Oslo to Miami
  • Copenhagen to Miami.

Stockholm to Los Angeles commences on the 14th March, operating daily for the first season, before switching to five/six days a week service in the winter season. These will operate as:

SK939 DEPART ARN 09:50 ARRIVE LAX 12:15
SK940 DEPART LAX 14:15 ARRIVE ARN 10:00+1

Operates daily during summer season

Copenhagen to Miami will operate 3 times a week as SK953/SK954, whilst Oslo to Miami will operate four days a week as SK955/SK956. No exact commencement date has been given yet (although strangely – flight times have).

Tickets for the LA service have gone on sale with lead-in prices starting at €549, with the Miami services due to go on sale in the Autumn.

In addition, some existing routes are due to be expanded with more services. These include:

  • Copenhagen – Shanghai (two additional departures each week)
  • Stockholm – Chicago (one additional departure each week)
  • Stockholm – New York (one additional departure each week)
  • Oslo – New York (one additional departure each week)
  • Copenhagen – San Francisco (one additional departure each week)

Considering at one point a few years ago, Scandinavian Airlines was near enough at its knees, this is an amazing turnaround for this airline as it boosts its connections across the world.

And more connections means more seats. More seats also means more reward seats will be up for grabs too.
