Economy Class & Beyond

You are here: Home / Trip / Adventures can be fun. Colds cannot be.

Adventures can be fun. Colds cannot be.

14/10/2015 by Kevincm

Good morning from Manchester Airport, where I am on the beginning of another adventure to the USA.

Why Manchester Airport? Well, I could argue convenience or ease of getting around, but a saving of £100 on an airfare verse the same route via Heathrow is pretty much a winner.

That and it’s cheaper by train and coach than Heathrow ever was.

Adventure
And the views are good too. Let’s not beat around that bush.

However – the past few days, I’ve been suffering with a nasty dose of cold.

Or what some refer to man-flu. This I lay squarely at my beloved co-workers in the office.

Put it like this: Monday I should had been nowhere near the office – instead I was on my perch being nice to people.

Adventure
And hitting the Lemsip all in one. This stuff is *good*.

At one point, I was going to cancel this trip – as being ill whilst in the air is just not fun in the least. Tuesday came along and I was feeling a bit more perkier – certainly, I was saying words as opposed to croaking them out. Also the world stopped moving when I topped moving – always a good sign.

A lot of sleep also has helped – but to be honest, I’m not firing on all thrusters at this moment in time. Hopefully a doze across the pond will make things a little better. Along with the pile of medication I brought at the airport…

More later on…. when I find where I’ve put my lemsip capsules.

As I said – Adventures can be fun. Colds can not be. Time to Adventure!

Hope you’re feeling better, I know how miserable flying sick can be – spent seven hours shivering in Salt Lake City as the onset of the flu combined with a badly delayed connection to make it the worst connection experience I’ve ever had.

The flight wasn’t that bad thankfully. Still sniffly… so more lemsip in a notch, and out exploring.

At least there are no delays today.
