If you’re collecting Lufthansa Miles and More miles – this could be up your street as MBNA are making a new bonus of up to 10,000 miles for signing up for their credit card.
So what’s the offer?
- 1,500 bonus miles on first spend
- 8,500 bonus miles after spending £1,000 within 90 days of opening the account
There is an additional offer on the card, which if you redeem 7,500 miles on hotel and car rentals, you get a one-time 15% discount. Which isn’t exciting if we’re honest.
As usual (for an MBNA product), the product is offered as a Visa Credit Card and an American Express Credit Card.
Earning miles isn’t exciting through the card, but there is a bonus for the first six months of holding the card:
First Six Months
- Miles and More American Express – 2 miles/£1
- Miles and More Visa Card – 1 mile/£1
Thereafter
- Miles and More American Express – 1.5 miles/£1
- Miles and More Visa Card – 1.5 miles/£2
For those who keep balances on their cards, this card offers a 16.9%APR on it… so don’t keep balances would be my advice here.
A good use of the Miles and More Credit card is that you can keep your Miles and More balance active and the points will not expire.
If you are collecting Miles and More miles – this isn’t a bad option. There’s a low enough spend to get the bonus, and with no annual fee, it makes it a bit easier to handle.
Historically, the maximum bonus offered on a Miles and More Credit card has been 10,000 miles – so this is as good as it gets.

So don’t blame me if you overspend on a card and they come hounding after you. If in doubt – seek appropriate financial advice.
Those who are considering applying should bear in mind you’ll need to be resident in the UK to get one, and probably have reasonable banking references/credit ratings to obtain the card.
