It seems that the recently introduced Tokyo to Dallas service seems to have been a success enough for Japan Airlines to upgrade the route to daily operation.

The route which currently operates four times a week currently (and re-commenced on the 30th November) will go daily from 22nd March 2016.
The timetable will now look a bit like this:
JL012 DEPART NRT 11:20 ARRIVE DFW 09:05 JL011 DEPART DFW 12:45 ARRIVE NRT 1615+1 JL011/012 currently operates Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun in both directions JL011/012 Daily operation commences 22nd March 2016 Booked Equipment: Boeing 787-8 (SS8)
This isn’t a short leg, so there is some minor good news – even if this is operated with a Boeing 787-8 (the leader in crammed seating Economy Class.
However, Japan Airlines is touting these operations will be using their “Sky Wider II” seats – which look a bit like this:

The observant amongst you will notice these have two seats as to three seats in the image above – meaning that Japan Airlines will deploy the seating as at 2-4-2 arrangement, as opposed to the industry standard of 3-3-3.
For those travelling on this route – it’s a start if you need comfort.
With airlines using high density 787s in the back of the plane, it’s actually welcome to see an airline try to operate 2-4-2 seating in economy again.
