Time for the first in a few snapshots from my recent Hong Kong trip.
First up, lets take a look at BA0936 between London Heathrow and Düsseldorf in British Airways Club Europe.
Boarding
I might have mentioned this, but boarding was from the bus gates at Heathrow Terminal 5 – the Gate A10 complex.
As the UK can’t even decide Heathrow gets a 3rd runway, expecting bussing at Heathrow has become to he norm for me. And course, this being British Airways and Heathrow services, it’s two buses to cram all the passengers in the plane.
The Plane
It’s a British Airways Airbus A319 that would operate BA0936. Nothing overly special… it seemed.
Seating
I must have had some luck on my side, because the plane had the old style British Airways seating as opposed to the benches they have fitted aboard the A320 and A321s I’ve been aboard recently.
Haven’t seen these seats in so long. And much more comfortable than the flying benches.
Boarding was done in two bus loads – I was in the second bus. Club Europe appeared full, with the first 7 rows assigned as Club Europe.
Departure
Hot towels were offered (although the paper thin things they offer aren’t exactly great..).
The taxi out gave some nice views of Terminal 3, and the slow demolishing of the old Terminal 1.
Take Off
Mother Nature gave a wonderful display during take off.
On-board service
On-board service was a full breakfast service in Club Europe, with a choice of a full English, Continental or Cold Meats. Drinks were offered.
Crew were fast as the flight was booked for 55 minutes in the air. And pretty much 55 minutes on the dot, the A319 touched down at Düsseldorf Airport.
