It seems Lufthansa rationalisation of routes is continuing, with the Frankfurt to Kuala Lumpur route heading for the axe in 2016.

The Kuala Lumpur route is already due to be shrunk from a five times a week service to a three times a week service from the 26th December 2015.
The flights on the Kuala Lumpur route currently operate as LH782/LH783 with no stops.
The axe will swing finally on the 1st March 2016, with the route to be suspended. Ticket sales beyond this date are a no-go after this point.
Lufthansa brought the Frankfurt to Kuala Lumpur route back in March 2014, however it seems that this route hasn’t been successful as Lufthansa would like, with the airline choosing to drop the route and redeploy the A340-300.
With Emirates to provide European feed for Malaysia Airlines in the future to Kuala Lumpur the survial of this route would had been down to strong traffic – which never appeared it seems.
