With the first test flight over, there are further checks that will need to carried out, as well as test flights and final cabin preparation before the A350 is delivered to the airline.
This will be the first of sixty seven A350-900 aircraft that will be joining the Singapore Airlines fleet on both regional and long range services. Seven of the A350s will be the special A350-900ULR – which Singapore Airlines intends to re-launch its services between Singapore and Los Angeles and Singapore and New York in 2018.
The A350s will replace Boeing 777-200’s and 777-200ER aircraft from the Singapore Airlines fleet in the medium term.
Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines are planning its first A350 operation to fly between Singapore and Amsterdam in April. In the run-up, the airline will operate training flights from Singapore to Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.
Expect many of these aircraft in Singapore Airlines classic colours – with at least 11 frames to be delivered in 2016.
