Good morning from sunny, non rainy Manchester Ringway Airport.
Well – it’s good now I’m in the airport and safe. Which is how I didn’t feel with National Express this morning.
They have put this wonderful boast, plastered across the coach station:
Well I’m afraid I’m going to knock a dent in it today (and I would love to see the make-up of those numbers from that poll).
Firstly, this National Express coach was heavily delayed. It was 20 minutes down when it arrived in Birmingham, and by the time it hit Manchester Airport, it was 53 minutes down.
Considering there were a fair few people going for 06:55 flights – their chances of making it were slim.
Mine chances were a lot higher.
Sadly, it seems our driver more than a little aggressive behind the wheel today, especially when he drove the coach on the M6 – flashing at cars and lorries to get out-of-the-way, overtaking in the far lane (which coaches are not allowed to do under the highway code), and tail-gating…
Which isn’t fine if you’re in a car with yourself or a few people – but a full coach? Downright dangerous.
Put it like this: I was glad that I had my seatbelt on.
So if you were driving the following coach below of the following coach:
Registration YN11 AYC – Coach code SE27 operating route 422 between London and Burnley via Birmingham and Manchester – please a bit more considerate when driving on the roads… and certainly with a full load of passengers.
And as for customer satisfaction… I’m not satisfied in the least – it was a method from getting from A to B… which is sometimes all you can ask of National Express.
Almost makes me want to head to a hotel overnight before catching a flight…
