Looking at the Airspace by Airbus A330neo cabin….

05/04/2016 by Kevincm

Airbus revealed the mockup of its A330neo cabin today – branded as “Airspace by Airbus”.

Airbus it seems are continuing to innovate in the cabin space by making it a lot more friendly than cabin have been in the past – and to create a signature brand for the cabins that are upcoming for the A330neo series aircraft.

So what doers the cabin look like? I’m at Aircraft Interiors Expo to find out!

We’re looking at a the cabin from a forward view. Here we can see the Business class cabin – with overhead bins to the site of the plane and not in the middle – creating a very airy atmosphere.

In the business class cabin, we have a layout of 1-2-1. It’s amazing how much space is opened up with the removal of the overhead bins.

Transitioning in Premium Economy zone, you can see lighting design and effort gone in… as well as the appearance of overhead bins.

So what’s next – a Premium economy section. This is shown off in a 2-3-2 layout

Again, these are picture to about 40″ pitch, and a larger seatpan.

Going through the plane, Pivot bins don’t feature – rather current shelf style bins are more the order of the day.

Even the toilet modules are being re–designed with redesigned with more touch free elements and antibacterial coatings being used. Discussing it with colleages – its a rather small unit and could be used in an economy/premium economy cabin.

Finally, we move onto the Economy Cabin. In the mock-up, it’s the usual Airbus 2-4-2 configuration that flies aboard the A330 at the moment. In this mockup, seats are pitched at 32″, with a seat-width of 18″ – making it a rather comfortable place to be.

And maybe more importantly, the seats in economy aren’t pushed against the wall (unlike the A380 11 across concept shown last year).

First impressions count – its clear Airbus thinks the same thing with this rollout.

But who will launch the A330neo Airspace by Airbus cabin? We’ll find out tomorrow!

40″ width in premium economy? That would be amazing. I think you mean 40″ of pitch.

You can tell I’m suffering from an epic case of jetlag too. 😉
