Swiss International Airlines have announced the launch date and first routes for their upcoming Bombardier CSeries CS100

The details were revealed in a tweet today from Swiss:

So to go over this, Swiss will be deploying their first CS100 on the 15th July 2016 on the 12:30 flight from Zurich to Paris as flight LX638

Checking the booking engine, it’s live, with lead in fares starting at 106CHF:

And clicking through, you get the lovely operating  information – with the all important CSeries CS 100 listed

For those of you who fancy a first flight – this could be one to go for providing the plane is delivered and arrives at Swiss International Airlines.

As well as Paris, Swiss are planning first-wave operations to:

  • Manchester
  • Prague
  • Budapest

Followed by (due to deploy by end of August)

  • Warsaw
  • Brussels

Then by end of September:

  • Nice
  • Stuttgart
  • Hanover
  • Milan
  • Florence
  • Bucharest

Airlineroute has all the dates, with additional airports not mentioned by Swiss that may be switched over to CS100 operation including:

  • Venice
  • Birmingham UK
  • Geneva
  • Luxembourg

With the introduction of the CSeries, other routers operated by Avro RJ100’s will slowly be switched over to CSeries operations.

The big one to watch will be the approval the CSeries type for operation at London City Airport. Swiss are aiming to introduce the new plane in the first quarter of 2017.

Swiss are due to take delivery of their first Bombardier CSeries CS100 towards the end of June 2016.

Considering this is one of the last of the “all brand new planes” that have come out of the recent development cycle, it will be interesting to see if entry into service will finally get more sales of the CSeries.
