Airplane Art – KLM Boeing 747-400M

24/04/2016 by Kevincm

It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more airplane art.

This week, parked at the gate is a Royal Dutch Airlines KLM Boeing 747-400 Combi at Chicago O’Hare International Airport after it completed its journey from Amsterdam.

KLM operate a fleet of 15 Boeing 747-400 Combis – which as well as carrying cargo in the belly of the plane, they can carry cargo on the main deck of the aircraft too.

KLM also operate five  the full passenger variant – the Boeing 747-400.

Both operate in KLM’s long haul fleet, connecting destinations in the Americas and Asia back to its hub in Amsterdam. They support KLM’s fleet of Boeing 777s and Airbus A330s in their long haul missions.

More Airplane Art next week!

    Here’s a great flight review: http://www.airlinereporter.com/2016/04/party-like-1999-flying-klms-fokker-70-747-combi/

Apparently the galley runs up and down the starboard side of the Y+ cabin, and blocks out the windows on that side of the aircraft.

If you want to fly on one though, get on it quick: these are scheduled to leave KLM’s fleet around 2020.
