EVA Air Increases US Focus – Increases New York Services, Adds Chicago

06/05/2016 by Kevincm

The airline of Hello Kitty appears to want to make better friends around the world, with EVA Air planning an expansion of services to New York JFK, and the introduction of services to Chicago.

Lets start in New York, where EVA Air will boost its operations from 10 times a week to 14 times a week – in effect, a double-daily service between Taipei Taoyan and New York JFK.

EVA Air will operate BR030/29, BR032/1 with Boeing 777-300ERs to the following timetable:

Taipei Taoyan to New York JFK

BR030 DEPART TPE 07:50 ARRIVE JFK 10:45
BR032 DEPART TPE 19:10 ARRIVE JFK 22:05

New York JFK to Taipei Taoyan

BR031 DEPART JFK 01:25 ARRIVE TPE 05:15+1
BR029 DEPART JFK 12:45 ARRIVE TPE 16:35+1

Commences 3rd October
Operates Daily
Booked Equipment: Boeing 777-300ER

Moving onto the Windy City, Chicago will gain a four times a week service between Taipei Taoyan and Chicago O’Hare, with reservations open for those who are looking to fly the Star Alliance carrier.

The four times a week service operates from Taipei on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, whilst the inbound service will operate Mondays. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays as BR056/055

The planned operation looks like this:

BR056 DEPART TPE 19:50 ARRIVE ORD 19:40, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
BR055 DEPART ORD 00:20 ARRIVE TPE 06:00+1 Mondays. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays

Commences 3rd October
BR056 operates Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
BR055 operates Mondays. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
Booked Equipment: Boeing 777-300ER

Data: Airlineroute

For those who fly Star Alliance out of Chicago, this might provide welcome relief in flying, with direct flights always a preference over indirect flights (be it a short hop). Currently, no airline serves a direct passenger service between the two – and it looks like EVA Air will try to make this work.
