Norwegian Long Haul’s next stop: Las Vegas!

25/05/2016 by Kevincm

Norwegian Air Shuttle continues to expand its long haul operation, with the airline to operate the London Gatwick to Las Vegas Route

The service will be starting up in on the 31st October 2016 – in time for the winter with a twice a week service.

The timetable looks a bit like this:

DY7107 DEPART LGW 1210 ARRIVE LAS 1500 Mondays and Thursdays
DY7108 DEPART LAS 1700 ARRIVE LGW 1050+1 Mondays and Thursdays

Commences 31st October 2016
Booked Equipment: Boeing 787-9
Operates Mondays and Thursdays only
Data: Norwegian

The route will compliment Norwegians other services to Las Vegas – currently the airline flies from Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm direct to Vegas.

Lead in prices are £179 each way for those who fancy flying aboard a 787-9 on a quite long haul flight, with economy and premium economy products offered (as well as a lot of buy on board services, and payable extras).

Seating is configured with 32 Premium Economy Seats configured in 2-3-2 configuration, and 259 economy seats in the usual bone-crushing 3-3-3.

So what is the competition? Virgin Atlantic operate a direct service to Las Vegas from Gatwick, whilst British Airways operates direct flights from London Heathrow – so there’s a lot of room for Norwegian to grow this route – if they choose to and if there’s enough planes to do the job.

For those looking to do Las Vegas on a budget (something to avoid if I’m honest… make sure you have plenty of money for Vegas… and that’s just in tipping) this could be a good option if the timings work for you.
