Lufthansa will be bringing an end of its Boeing 737 operations on the 29th October 2016. With such announcements, final operations and such are now starting to be published.

Lufthansa has operated Boeing 737s in some form since the launch of the type in 1968 – where it became the launch customer of the 737-100.
Lufthansa has also operated the following variants (mainly the original and classic variants):
- 737-100
- 737-200
- 737-300
- 737-400
- 737-500
Currently, only the Boeing 737-300s remain in the Lufthansa short-haul fleet (which is dominated by the Airbus A320 family aircraft).
AirlineRoute has published a list at http://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/267434/lufthansa-boeing-737-16q3-operations/
The draw-down will involve operations being shrunk from European cities to mostly German domestic operations.
Currently, the following destinations will have Lufthansa Boeing 737-300 operations on the listed “final day”. These are all based on departures from Frankfurt:
- Bologna
- Geneva
- Hanover
- Katowice
- Leipzig
- Nuremberg
- Prague
- Stuttgart
- Zurich

It goes without saying that these final operations are subject to changes, as are operations beyond the 30th October 2016 (for example – fleet shortages force Lufthansa to use these aircaft).
I flew on a classic Lufthansa Boeing 737 a couple of times . You can see my review here in Business class and Economy Class
As opportunities around Europe dwindle to fly the Classic series Boeing 737 – this could be a chance to wave goodbye to this aircraft which has served Lufthansa solidly.
