Air Canada has finalised its order with Bombardier for CSeries aircraft
The firm order calls for 45 CS300 and options for an additional 30 options (again, CS300), firming up the Letter of Intent signed in February.
The order – whilst not as big as Delta’s CSeries order is one of the more significant orders for the Bombardier CSeries.
At list prices (remind again me… who in the aviation sector pays list price for anything?) the firm order for 45 CS300 aircraft is worth around $US 3.8 billion. If the option is taken for the additional 30 aircraft, this jumps to $US 6.3 billion.
Deliveries of the Air Canada are scheduled to begin in late 2019 and extend to 2022.
Meanwhile Swiss have taken delivery of their first CSeries aircraft – with the type due to formally entered into commercial service on the 15th July.
The dream of the CSeries is finally becoming reality – and for Bombardier – it can’t come a moment too soon to get aircraft in the commercial flying space to demonstrate what it can do….
… as well as snag a few more customers on the way.
