Well, day one has come to an end at the Farnborough Air Show. And apart from rain causing more than it’s fair share of chaos (because it never rains in the UK…).
So, let’s see who’s ordered what on day one:
Boeing opened the show with Xiamen Airlines signing for 30 737 MAX 200 airplanes

More narrow body orders from Donghai Airlines, who have announced their intent to purchase 25 737 MAX 8s and Five 787-9s

Lessor Standard Chartered put its name down for 10 Boeing 737-800 aircraft

Let’s head over to Airbus, who kicked off their show with Virgin Atlantic – who have finally got its act together, and ordered 8 Airbus A350-1000, and leasing an extra four to bring it up to 12 A350-1000s (with an option to lease an extra one).

Meanwhile Air Lease Corporation increases its lease fleet, with orders for three A350-900s and one A321

Meanwhile, Air Côte d’Ivoire adds an extra A320neo to its collection, with an order for an additional unit.

Jetstar Pacific of Vietnam is adding to its fleet, with an order for 10 Airbus A320ceo aircraft. The airline has 12 leased aircraft in its fleet.

A bit of a surprise order next from Arkia of Israel, who have turned to Airbus for widebody jets with order for four A330-900neo aircraft – and thus become the first Airbus widebody operator in Israel. These will be fitted with the Airspace by Airbus cabin.
