If you’re heading off today Gatwick Airport, you will need to allow extra time for your journey.
Gatwick Express service passing Clapham Junction – Image, Economy Class and Beyond
According to National Rail Enquiries, as small fire on a section of the track occurred at Gatwick Airport this morning.
This in turn has damaged to the electrical 3rd rail, running rails and cabling.
As a result:
- Services running through Gatwick Airport may be delayed by up to 35 minutes.
- The Gatwick Express train service is running a slightly reduced service.
- Great Western Railway services between Reading and Gatwick Airport may start / terminate at Redhill.
Thameslink, Southern and Gatwick Express are accepting each others tickets via all reasonable routes to get you to and from Gatwick.
Disruption is expected to continue until the end of service.
Allow extra time for your trip… however tempting it is to dash to Gatwick at the last-minute.
