Delta continues its recovery after the incident at their data centre that caused their operations to be halted.

However, as the airline tries to get back to normal, there is of course the mess still to clean up – one of those messes is the cancellations still in the system – with over 530 flights axed at the time of writing.
Clearly – there’s a lot to go.
The travel waiver that was in place yesterday has been pulled forward to today (9th August) – see http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/advisories/system-outage.html. Travel can now be delayed until the 21st August.
In the meantime there are travel credits to be claimed. If you are on a Delta flight, which had a 3 hour plus delay on Monday and Tuesday – you will be entitled to the $200 travel credits – see http://news.delta.com/delta-offers-compensation-customers-affected-cancels-long-delays.
We have extended $200 voucher compensation to customers significantly affected by delays or cancellations today. https://t.co/mFeqXMohCV

Meanwhile, if you’ve been departing from a European airport, I’m more than certain that you are covered under EC261/2006, which entitles you to a payment of €600… a substantial difference compared to the US$200 offer.
It’s a slight difference to say the least – stand your ground would be my advice at this juncture.
For those who are having children travelling as unaccompanied minors, Delta is expecting to resume these operations on Wednesday.
CORRECTION: As @Delta recovers, unaccompanied minors who haven’t begun travel won’t be accepted today. Yes Wednesday. Sorry for confusion.

With a focus of getting Atlanta up and running, you can lay money on the fact there will be cancellations and disruptions for tomorrow at least, and possibly through to the end of the week as crews and planes rotate into the correct places they need to be.
For now, if you have flights on Delta in the next few days, keep a close eye to see if your service is running.
Or not.
