More Turkish Airlines cuts – Long Haul Services face frequency reductions

31/08/2016 by Kevincm

It seems that Turkish Airlines have more cuts to services lined up – this time affecting their long haul operations.

The long haul programme takes a haircut this time, with services to Boston, Houston, Islamabad, Miami, Osaka-Kansai, Sao Paulo/Buenos Aires taking frequency cuts.

Some frequencies drop one fight a week, others lose two flights a week, with Boston having its frequency reduced from daily operation to 4 times a week operation.

A full list of changes are listed on AirlineRoute.

However, if you have tickets booked on Turkish Airlines – I would be checking if those flight still exist, and request re-routes/re-accommodation as needed (especially if you’re on reward tickets).

Sadly, I would expect more changes as Turkish Airlines works out what routes work and what routes don’t after earlier incidents this year.

Sustainability is key.

Expect more changes in the timetabled to come sooner rather than later for this airline.

If Dubai saw a political or social crisis like that in Turkey, you wonder what would the effect on Emirates would be.
