The protesters managed to bypass the security areas, and gain access to the runway.

Currently, London City Airport is closed to air traffic until the protesters are removed, and the field is deemed clean to receive flights.

It seems the protest is lead by “Black Lives Matter” according to BBC News

For British Airways passengers flying from London City Airport, things are LOT worse with the collapse of the the Check-in systems around the BA network.

Not a good day for travel in many respects.

If you’re flying from London City Airport, keep an eye on their Twitter Feed. British Airways passengers should check in and Print their own boarding passes at home to avoid some of the chaos.
