For those of us still with Diamond Club Credit Cards in the UK (a wonderful leftover from the days of British Midland), time is running out to earn miles on them.
I couldn’t resist this. A British Midland Airbus A330-200 at Chicago O’Hare. Diamond Club was the loyalty programme of BMI until it was folded into British Airways. Now the last remnants of BMI are to be swept away… – Image, Economy Class and Beyond/GhettoIFE.
You have until 30th September 2016 to earn miles on this credit card, and until 31st November to convert them to Avios.
Note that purchases must hit your account by the 30th September. Transactions were made on the 30th, and hit the account later will not score miles.
(To be honest, the deadline for a guaranteed clearance have past. You’ve on borrowed time. You need to get those transactions in today)
Now for those of you thinking of making a big purchase, claim the Diamond Club Miles, and then refund the purchase… don’t. There’s rumor enough of BA and MBNA will audit you and your account on FlyerTalk.
For those who want to buy British Airways tickets on the cheap, don’t forget the 10% discount on fare element which you can access from your Diamond Club account. This discount is valid until 31st November 2016.
Ladies and Gentlemen: The final days of Diamond Club are amongst us. Enjoy them, get the miles you can, get the discounts and thank British Midland for the memories.
That airline created lots of them.
