Greetings dear readers! Ready for a bit of boring blog admin? Of course you are!
Things at Economy Class and Beyond have been variable this year due to a variety of factors (especially in March this year… which is another story I’ll tell one day).
This year, rather than focusing on my travels, I’ve focused on myself, and trying to develop myself (be it talking my way into events, doing more analysis and trying to understand a bit more of the aviation world).
Meanwhile, I’ve been plodding along in the real world as a simple 3rd line IT engineer. And it’s been a challenging time… like an IT job should be.
Earlier this year, I went for a job… that turned into a discussion, that finally turned into a secondment opportunity.
And I’ve learned in life to take the opportunities as they come and not waste them.
A typical IT leaving dinner. What did you expect? Actual food or IT people being powered by pure sugar? (Shot at Desertz, West Bromwich).
So on Monday, there’s going to be a bit of slow-down for a bit whilst I work out what I can achieve in both of these lives for a bit.
However, my travel plans are picking up soon. Heavily.
- I’m off to Chicago in a few weeks. Yes Chicago again. With a route to really bewilder everyone.
- I’m going to catch up with some of my fellow Boarding Area Bloggers as we get together
to see how many credit card referral dealshow we can improve and deliver better content (and you know how much I don’t talk about credit cards). - And an end of year Tier Point run? I’m trying to pull something together. What exactly… is another matter.
So, please understand I don’t write every day for the next few weeks. I’m getting used to another new life…

Stay healthy Kevin! It’s a common mantra to keep your body in shape, but we all need to exercise mental welfare too
Enjoy this brief phase and I’ll catch up with you when/if I get to Birmingham!
