Time for another Snapshot – this time looking how Iberia does long haul service. This time, we’re going from Madrid to Chicago aboard Iberia 6725.
Boarding
Boarding was from the RSU section of Terminal 4S at Madrid Airport. By the time I had arrived, boarding was in full swing with Group 2 about to board. I slipped into the priory queue… to be greeted with a queue to get on the plane at the jetbridge.
Not a good sign
The Plane
My chariot to Chicago – operating Iberia 6725 – was an Airbus A330-300, in old Iberia colours.
A330-300. Especially for one of my readers. They know who they are. 😉
The Seat
The seat is a slimline seat. Thankfully aboard the A330-300s, seats in economy are laid out in a 2-4-2 formation. Standard for an A330, but gives you an 18″ seat width. Whilst two seats are great… having someone sleep for the entire flight next to you means you can’t get out to get a drink..
Legroom wasn’t great, but wasn’t bad.
IFE+C (In-Flight Entertainment and Communications)
The system aboard this plane was a Panasonic ex3. Nice and easy to use. Content was… variable. Some reasonable content on it, but partial series loaded and some films… that were awful (I didn’t realise how much they ruined Star Trek in Star Trek Beyond…).
Headphones were provided.
Communications is provided by ONAir. And it was expensive. Surprisingly, the person next to me signed up for 25mb.
I didn’t.
When I ran out of content, I checked if my iPhone 7 was GhettoIFE compatible.
Surprise. It was ;).
Cabin Crew
Let’s just say they weren’t paying much attention to call bells (for example, when I wanted a drink), but they responded when there was an emergency aboard. And there was on this flight. But that’s a different story.
Food and Drink
Food and Drink was in reasonable quantities (even if the crew couldn’t be bothered to do a water run the entire flight).
Main meal:
Main meal
I’ll give Iberia this. I haven’t seen such a colourful meal in all my travels.

The views
Sadly, I had a person that wanted blinds shut as opposed to blinds open… so the outside photos are… limited.
Chicago North Lake Shore.
