Emirates A380 to resume operations to Tokyo Narita

05/01/2017 by Kevincm

Emirates is doing a little plane juggling, and it seems that an A380 is free to return to Tokyo Narita.

Emirates A380 will return to Japan on 26th March 2017, operating a daily service between Dubai and Tokyo Narita

Operations are as below:

EK318 DEPART DXB 02:40 ARRIVE NRT 17:35
EK319 DEPART NRT 22:00 ARRIVE NRT 04:15 Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
EK319 DEPART NRT 21:20 ARRIVE NRT 03:35 Tuesday and Wednesday

Commences: 26th March 2017
Booked Equipment: Emirates Airbus A380 - Three Class

Emirates will use a Three-class configured plane on this service, offering:

  • 14 First Suites
  • 76 Business Class seats
  • 399 Economy Seats

The A380 offers 135 seats extra compared to the Boeing 777-300ER that is operated on this route.

There is some wonderful fluff in the Emirates PR about how First Customers get a shower, a Kaiseki menu, whilst business class passengers get a bento box (and for economy… well, we all know the answer to that one).

Timings are very much to meet with the evening bank of arrivals from Europe for onward travel to Asia. The return timings will allow passengers to meet the early bank of departures westbound without any problems.

However, for passengers there is one little fly in the ointment… and once again it’s Tokyo Narita. Narita as regular viewers are aware is a good distance away from central Tokyo, with a 40 minute ride to Kelsi-Ueno, or a 55 minute ride on the Narita Express to Tokyo Station.

Something to bear in mind if you’re going to use this connection.
