It seems the wings of the Cathay Pacific A350 fleet will be stretching their wings further, with the announcement of a new seasonal route between Hong Kong and Barcelona
The service will run four times a week (subject to governmental approvals), adding additional services to Spain from the 2nd July 2017.
The booked timetable looks like this:
CX321 DEPART HKG 00:20 ARRIVE BCN 07:35 CX322 DEPART BCN 13:50 ARRIVE HKG 08:05+1 Commences: 2nd July 2017 Operates in both directions Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays Booked Equipment: Airbus A350 Data: Cathay Pacific
Currently, Cathay Pacific operates services to Madrid. This seasonal service will add additional capacity to Spain, and direct access to Catlunia.
Cathay Pacific will be using its 3-class Airbus A350 on the route, made up of a three cabin – with Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins.
The capacity boost will be welcome to Spain, and will be another boost to Barcelona Airport which has a heavy LCC presence (it being the home of Vueling and the proposed Low-Cost Long Haul airline that IAG is cooking up). It will provide extra connectivity for those who don’t want to connect at Madrid (which can be… less than enjoyable if it’s under an hour).
And choice as I’ve said a lot of times on this blog is a good thing.
