Update: Cathay Pacific London Heathrow Business Class Lounge

17/01/2017 by Kevincm

I had another chance to pop into the new Cathay Pacific Lounge last weekend. After my last visit which was soured slightly by the lounge lifts not being activated, how is the lounge holding up?

The lounge opened slightly later than the advertised, but at least people weren’t waiting 40 minutes to get into a lounge.

I was one of the first into the lounge so it was quiet. However, traffic into the lounge is up as people start to work out it exists, and it’s open.

It’s still a quiet environment at 6am in the morning on a Saturday.

The lounge

Not a lot has changed – and that’s a good thing. There’s still plenty of seating, of different types and for everyone.

Food

Of course, I stuck with the classics – DanDan Noodles and a Pork Bun.

The bun in its steamer. Too cute.

A help yourself section was also available with breakfast items. They were the same as my last visit.

The quality of the food is as good as my first visit – but there is a better attention to detail. For example at the pickup station for the noodles, there are useful utensils there (such as chopsticks, forks and spoons) – so you don’t have to hunt around the lounge for things.

 The Bar

Again – the bar was well stocked with staff eager to help.

Drinks

The drink selection is evolving, with new teas introduced.

Also, there’s a multi-function tap installed too. This little wonder can dispense cold water, hot water and fizzy water all from one tap. It’s good for filling glasses, as well as water bottles.

Overall

My first visit was in the new Cathay Pacific lounges pre-opening phase, and whilst it was a good lounge then – there was room for improvement as it was lacking refinement.

I can see after six weeks that there has been a bit of polish has been added to lounge. That’s a good thing to see, and it just improves what is a very good choice in lounges.

Certainly – the Cathay Pacific lounge is my first choice in lounges when at Heathrow Terminal 3 if I’m flying a oneworld airline.

Agreed. I had a few hours to kill in T3 on Thursday, so I visited 4 lounges. It was by far my favorite.
