Emirates adds services to Phnom Penh, makes Hanoi service non-stop

22/02/2017 by Kevincm

Emirates continued global expansion continues apace with new routes and network changes. Let’s look at the latest changes.

Firstly, is a route adjustment, with a route between Dubai – Yangon and Phnom Penh to be added to the network, replacing the Dubai – Yangon and Hanoi route, creating what Emirates call a “new air link between capital cities of two developing Indochinese markets”.

The new route looks a bit like this:

EK388 DEPART DXB 09:15 ARRIVE RGN 17:25 DEPART 18:55 ARRIVE PNH 21:25
EK389 DEPART PNH 23:10 ARRIVE RGN 00:40+1 DEPART 02:10+1 ARRIVE DXB 05:40+1

Commences: 1st July 2017
Operates Daily
Booked Equipment: Emirates Boeing 777-300ER - Two Class

Emirates will have traffic rights between Yangon and Phom Pehn, allowing passengers to travel between the two cities – as well as onto Dubai.

The new route is subject to governmental approval.

Meanwhile, the Dubai – Hanoi service will go non-stop operating a daily service (thus dropping the stopover in Yangon). The new service – loaded as EK394/395 is listed to operate as follows:

EK394 DEPART DXB 03:30 ARRIVE HAN 13:05
EK395 DEPART HAN 01:30 ARRIVE DXB 05:05

Commences: 1st July 2017
Operates Daily
Booked Equipment: Emirates Boeing 777-300ER - Two Class
Data: Emirates

Both new flights are listed on the Emirates fare engine if you need to book them.

Both routes will operate the two-class variant of the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER with Business and Economy Class installed on the plane.

Emirates is expecting cargo uplift on the route, with exports of garments and clothing are expected to be popular exports from Phnom Penh.

Whilst not as flashy as deploying an A380 to every single destination, sometimes the smaller routes that Emirates operate can be the more interesting ones – as these develop traffic to feed the bigger routes.
