It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more airplane art.
This week, in the early morning, is an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-900ER with split scimitar winglets taxing at Chicago O’Hare International Airport in the classic Alaska livery.
Alaska Airlines operate a fleet of 52 Boeing 737-900ER aircraft, with this example being one of forty aircraft that are ETOPS ( Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards) rated. An additional 16 737-900ER aircraft are on order by the airline.
Alaska Airlines operates an “All-Boeing” operation on its mainline fleet, operating the 737-400, 737-400c, 737-700, 737-800, 737-900, and 737-900ER. The airline also has orders for the upcoming Boeing 737 MAX 8 and MAX 9.
More airplane art next week!

Alaska flew in one of these during the Oregon airshow last year. They dropped off a WWII vet and some USO folks on the flight line and had a little ceremony.
