It’s time for another snapshot – this time featuring British Airways 294 in World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy).
The Plane
It’s a Boeing 777-200ER. This one is refurbished compared to some of the Boeing 777s in the British Airways fleet.
The Seat
This time, I would be sat in World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy cabin) as opposed to World Traveller (Economy Cabin). The cabin is set up as a four class cabin (First, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller).
One thing to note is the seat reclines extremely deeply. It felt like a bad United Airlines economy seat wit that level of recline considering how close the screen was to my face.
Food and Drink
Pre-departure beverages were offered, along with a main service. I was not awake to get the breakfast service – although the flight length (sub seven and a half hours) would indicate the “compressed” service (muffin, snack bar and tea/coffee would be served).
Pre-departure champagne.
In-flight vodka.
Meal service.
Fillet of Beef.
In-Flight Entertainment
This plane has the updated in-flight entertainment system from Thales, with a reasonable level of content. Two USB charging points and a mains charging point were provisioned.
Noise Cancelling headphones were provisioned and were at seat on arrival.
No in-flight Internet connectivity was presented.
IFE Remote controller.
USB Power.
Big old IFE boxes though.
The Cabin
The cabin was refreshed Boeing 777-200ER, with updated seats in World Traveller Plus, World Traveller and updated IFE systems
Traditional window blinds are used.
Views
Occasionally, I strike it lucky with window views – this was one of those flights as I caught the City of Chicago on the way out, and bits of London on the way in.

Landing
Landing at Heathrow was entertaining as the pilot had to use auto=land due to the low-level fog on Heathrow airport. That would impact me later on, with my connecting flight having an added delay…
… but that’s another story.

The old World Traveler Plus seats had leg rests. How do these seats compare?
