If you do one thing tonight with your computer, tablet or phone tonight, please check it for software updates.
Why? I’m sure you’ve heard about the wonders of WannaCrypt/WannaCry/etc.
There’s technical advice from Microsoft too.
Windows 7 Users
Click Start, type Windows Updates. Download the updates and install them.
Windows 10 Users
Click Cortana/Search. Type Windows Update. Follow the instructions on-screen to update your computers.
Windows 10 users get something like this:
Mac Users
Click the Apple Icon, and App Store. Click the updates tag and update any operating system and Applications.
Android Users/iOS Users
Consult your help to find out how to perform updates, and install the lot.
Don’t sit back and think viruses, malware and ransomware won’t happen to you. Because if you take that attitude, it’s going to end it tears and lost data on your computer.
Oh, and have you made a backup of your data recently? Better do that too…
And check your antivirus if you have time…
