It seems what works for one location will work for another, with Emirates to take its service to Beijing and convert it into a double-daily A380 operation
Emirates A380 preparing to depart Heathrow Airport – Image, Economy Class and Beyond.
The route is currently served with an Airbus A380 and a Boeing 777-300ER. This will move to double-A380 operations from the 1st July 2017.
The new timetable featuring total A380 operation looks like this:
EK306 DEPART DXB 03:55 ARRIVE PEK 15:25 EK308 DEPART DXB 10:50 ARRIVE PEK 22:20 EK307 DEPART PEK 00:40 ARRIVE DXB 05:00 EK309 DEPART PEK 07:25 ARRIVE DXB 11:35 Commences with A380 operation from Dubai from 1st July 2017 Booked Equipment: Airbus A390 Data: RoutesOnline/Emirates
There’s a reasonable premium market to be had on this route, so Emirates will deploy its 517 seat A380, configured with:
- 14 First Class suites on the top deck
- 76 Business Class flat-bed seats on the top deck
- 427 standard seats on the main deck
This move will convert Emirates routes to Shanghai and Beijing to all-A380 operation.
The trick however with a move like this is to fill all those seats with every flight. 7266 seats a week between Dubai and Beijing is a lot of seats to fill….
