It’s fast coming up to the 24th July. For TravelEx Supercard holders – it’s a date some have been dreading, mainly as this is when the Supercard programme for all intents and purposes comes to an end.
The TravelEx Supercard was a card that was linked to other cards to commit foreign currency spending with. With the card, you got MasterCard rates on transactions – to say it as a penny saver is an understatement.
Sadly, Travelex have found this programme costs way to much to run and instead are to shutter the programme.
No more transactions will be accept after 00:01 on 24th July 2017.
If you have a Supercard plastic card left that this point – you are advised to destroy the card as it will not function any more.
The Supercard App will be available until 20th October if you need to export your transactions for reconciliation purposes (or remembering how much you saved compared to your normal Visa/MasterCard). After that point, you will not be able to access to these transactions
I found Supercard to be over great use in my travels – it’s saved me a few pounds along the way when shopping abroad (compared to my usual Visa/MasterCard cards that I use).
For now, I’m looking at other options.
At this point – I’m meant to write about a list of options including lots of affiliate links aren’t I…? As I’m a UK citizen and this blog is written from a UK point of, I would have to be regulated by Financial Conduct Authority rules for my recommendations.
So I’m not going to.
I’m trying a few different things, and I’ll report back on them as and when I have news….
