Finnair are adding to their Airbus A350 fleet, with their 11th aircraft to come shortly to be delivered. However, rather than using the normal plain white, Finnair have teamed up with Marimekko for inspiration for their new plane.

So that’s the rendering. But how does it look in the real world? Well, pictures of the plane have been released – and it’s looking wonderful.

Finnair have had a working relationship with Marimekko for some time, partnering with them for service items.

Finnair have in the past had two A330s painted in partnership with Marimekko. Currently one Airbus A330 remains with the special livery (the other removed after a copyright dispute).
As can be seen, with the plane in the paint shop. Today a picture of the A350 emerged – and clear of the paint shop. It’s next stop will be to take its place on the flight-line – and then head towards delivery.

When there are partnerships between an airline and a company, sometimes we hold our breath and hope for the best. However, it seems the partnership between Finnair and Marimekko is a strong one – creating a unique product in the sky.
