For those planning ahead to next summer, Delta is introducing a handy route – connecting Orlando International Airport to Amsterdam Schipol.
Delta Boeing 767-300ER pushing back from London Heathrow – Image, Economy Class and Beyond.
The new service will commence on the 30th March 2018 with a daily service.
The timetable is as below:
DL126 DEPART MCO 21:45 ARRIVE AMS 12:45+1 DL127 DEPART AMS 13:15 ARRIVE MCO 17:41 Commences 30th March 2018 Operates Daily Book Equipment: Boeing 767-300ER Data: Delta.com
Delta will offer a 2-class cabin, with Delta One Business Class, Main Cabin (with Delta Comfort Plus featured on the plane). This will be operated by a Boeing 767-300ER.
The timings should be good for those connecting at Amsterdam Schipol to this flight (which puts it in range of a lot of secondary European Airports). It also provides connectivity onto US domestic destinations, as well as a possible connection to São Paulo – averaging 55 departures a day from Orlando International Airport.
Dwight James, Delta’s Senior Vice President – Trans-Atlantic states:
Our new flight will be the only daily nonstop service between Orlando and Amsterdam improving access between these cities
Not only are we enabling customers’ easy access to Florida’s main attractions, but our partnership with Air France, KLM and Alitalia makes connecting throughout Europe easy and convenient via our Amsterdam hub.
Orlando International appears under-served from France and The Netherlands – with neither Air France or KLM operating a direct route – with passengers having to route via London Heathrow to catch a flight with Virgin Atlantic.
For those seeing a direct connection between Orlando and Amsterdam, this is a lovely match for you.

henry LAX says
there’s few advantages to DL flying it instead of KLM
– they have the smallest possible plane to cross that distance (the 757 can’t make it)
– they found the plane with fewest seats that’s also light in J capacity (there’s one AF 332 config with fewer seats but 40J)
– zero startup cost and risk. KLM or AF have to spend all the effort arranging ground services while DL can literally kick it off tomorrow.
but it’s not like DL strikes gold everytime either. MCO-BSB flopped like no tomorrow, cancelling maybe 8 months into the service ?
