So far, the Bombardier CSeries has seen deployment with Swiss and airBaltic. But there are other customers watching and waiting for their aircraft. One of those carriers is Korean Air – and their first CSeries is in the paint shop.

Korean Air’s first Bombardier CSeries aircraft – a CS300 aircraft. The aircraft is due to be delivered in the autumn. The airline will be the launch operator of the CSeries in Asia.
The aircraft is in Korean Air’s house colours of blue, white, grey and the splash of red.
Rob Dewar, Vice President, C Series Aircraft Program is pleased with the paint job, stating:
“Seeing a C Series aircraft in brand new colors is always a special moment for us and our customers.
“Painting an airplane is a complex artistic chemical process that gives the final visual character to this majestic aircraft, granting airlines their first feeling of pride and ownership when they see the aircraft wearing their brand colors for the first time.”
In terms of the entry into service, he adds:
“We are very proud to have Korean Air as the C Series launch operator in Asia, as they bring very strong technical and operational capabilities to the program”
Korean Air and Bombardier are working together at Mirabel (the final assembly point of the Bombardier CSeries), and are working towards first flight, testing and delivery.
Once these steps are complete, and the aircraft has been accepted for delivery, the Korean Air CS300 will initially be based in Seoul.
Currently – no timetabled routes have appeared for the type yet.
As CSeries project ramp up its production rate, more airlines will take delivery of the type, and the type will hopefully become more common.
Least of all, Air Canada and Delta are awaiting their CSeries aircraft…
