Time for another snapshot – this time looking at American Airlines 86 between Chicago O’Hare International and London Heathrow T3
Boarding
Boarding was from Gate K5 in the Terminal 3 complex at O’Hare
The plane
It’s an American Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner
This plane is configured in a 2 1/2 classes, split between Business class, main cabin extra and main cabin.
The seat
The seat is a standard Slimline Economy seat. Being in main cabin extra, there is of course, extra legroom
IFE
A Panasonic ex3 system is installed on the plane with a captive user interface. As well as the usual AVOD selections, LiveTV was also offered (including BBC world news)
Power on board
Power is offered on-board using 110v output and a USB port.
WiFi
On-board WiFi is offered aboard the Boeing 787-8. The system is a Panasonic Ka platform. Whilst not used, it’s pretty speedy as I’ve shown before
Food
A full drinks pass was carried out, followed by a meal service, with a main of chicken and mashed potatoes taken.
A pre-arrivals breakfast service was carried out – involving a box with a lot of sugar in it.
Views
This being a night flight, it was conducted mostly in darkness – however, there were some nice views during take off
