It seems Embraer has scored some extra aircraft, with the airframer to build another 10 aircraft for American Airlines.

American will configure them as their other E175s are configured – in a 2 and half class configuration, split by 12 First Class, 20 Main Cabin Extra and 44 Main Cabin seats – a total of 76 seats.
The ten extra Embraer 175 aircraft are being purchased under the original contract signed in 2013. The delivery for these extra aircraft will commence in 2018, through to mid-2019. This will bring the American Airlines E175 fleet to 74 strong, and operated by Envoy on behalf of American Airlines
At list price, this order is worth US$457 million.
Charlie Hillis, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, North America, Embraer Commercial Aviation on the sale states:
“Because of its excellent operational performance, the E175 has proven to be the right solution for American. This repeat order demonstrates the confidence that the airline has in Embraer and in the E175,”
“We are proud to be part of American Airlines Inc.’s overall fleet vision and are dedicated to serving their business needs.”
Regular readers will know I have a LOT of time for the Embraer E-175 (and Embraer E-Jets family) compared to some regional jets that are out there – mainly as it’s a tough plane to mess up from a passenger experience perspective.
That, and the well-managed 2-2 configuration helps a lot – making it preferable on short hops to larger jets.
