The Heathrow Bears return

20/11/2017 by Kevincm

One of the things that slipped me by as we headed into the Festive Season last  year was the introduction of the Heathrow bears with a feel-good advert.

Well, the Heathrow Team have been out again, with the bears returning. From an #avgeek point of view, watch for the changes in seats, liveries and… well… other nerdy stuff

There are some wonderful touches in the advert… from the classic BOAC planes…

And uniforms

To British Airways era…

And to modern times.

The campaign – “It’s a wonderful flight”, set to Petula Clark’s “Couldn’t Live Without Your Love” is a sentimental thing for the holiday, showing the bears united and reunited at Heathrow Arrivals. British Airways helped with branded uniforms and even a BOAC aircraft.

As for the filming location – for many of us – it’s the familiar home of Terminal 1 (closed to passenger traffic since 2016).

It’s heartwarming for the Winter season – especially after last years advert

Very clever in terms of little touches.

Although on the signage they missed the British Airports Authority era – i.e. Rail Alphabet.
