Primera Air to launch London Stansted to Washington Dulles service

02/02/2018 by Kevincm

Time to go back to one of this blog’s “on the watch list” for 2018 – Primera Air, with the airline announcing it’s going to launch a fourth long haul service out of London Stansted to Washington Dulles.

The service will kick off on the 22nd August, operating five days a week

PF47 DEPART STN 15:55 ARRIVE IAD 19:50
PF48 DEPART IAD 21:20 ARRIVE STN 09:50+1

Commences 22nd August
Operates Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays
Booked Equipment: Airbus A321neo

Lead-in prices start at £199 – but if you want extras, the fare zooms up pretty quick as I discovered. The lowest fares are already £229 on launch week on the outbound segment.

The timings sadly will not appeal to the business traveller – who might want to arrive earlier in the day. And to get the business traffic – a daily service would really help push this service to that market. Five days a week is a good start however.

With Primera Air adjusting its timetable as it nears its long haul launch, it’ll be interesting to see how they choose to expand their long haul service.

More interesting to watch, will be to see if Primara Air’s long haul network is sustainable.

From the misspelling in the title, I thought Amazon had launched a passenger airline service. I’m disappointed.

I’m honestly surprised the entire flight of correctors came down on me yesterday – the editing fairies did a good job of mangling the headline.

      Fixed 😉
